Background

Dr. Owen Castellano came to Aldessa to work beside Dr. Brandt as the clinic's full-time implantologist. His work centers entirely on placing implants — from simple single-tooth cases to complex full-arch restorations that call for exact planning at the bone level.

He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the UCSF School of Dentistry and went on to a residency in implant surgery, with extra training in computer-guided placement and immediate loading. He has placed more than 2,800 implants so far and is one of a small number of San Diego clinicians certified in fully digital implant planning with CBCT imaging and printed surgical guides.

At Aldessa, he works hand in hand with Dr. Whitcombe on surgical cases that need bone grafts or sinus lifts, and with Dr. Lindqvist when implant position has to be planned around the final crown or bridge. He is careful and exact, and patients know him for walking them through every scan and every step before any treatment starts.
