Overview

Understanding Tooth Extraction

Sometimes a tooth is too damaged or infected to save, or taking it out protects the teeth around it. We always discuss an extraction first, with time to ask questions and weigh up every alternative.

We work gently and at your pace, and you go home with written aftercare advice and a number to call. If you would like to replace the tooth later, we can talk through bridges, dentures or implants.

Good to Know

Is This Treatment Right for Me?

That depends on your oral health, your medical history and what you hope to achieve. An examination with one of our dentists is the best way to find out.

How long does treatment take?

It depends on the treatment and on you; your dentist will give you a timescale in your plan.

Do I need an examination first?

Usually, yes. An examination lets us check your teeth and gums and explain whether this treatment suits you before anything begins.

How much does it cost?

Fees depend on your plan. A new patient exam is £65, and you get a written estimate before treatment.
