Restorative

Root Canal Treatment to Save Your Tooth.

Root canal treatment has an unfair reputation; for most people it feels much like having a filling. Here is who needs it, how we keep you comfortable and what happens afterwards.

Overview

Understanding Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment deals with infection or inflammation in the soft pulp inside a tooth. Your dentist cleans and shapes the narrow canals with fine instruments, then seals them to stop infection returning.

The aim is always to keep your own tooth. We use local anaesthetic and take our time, explaining each step before we start. Back teeth often need a crown afterwards, which we include in your plan.

Good to Know

Is This Treatment Right for Me?

That depends on your oral health, your medical history and what you hope to achieve. An examination with one of our dentists is the best way to find out.

How long does treatment take?

It depends on the treatment and on you; your dentist will give you a timescale in your plan.

Do I need an examination first?

Usually, yes. An examination lets us check your teeth and gums and explain whether this treatment suits you before anything begins.

How much does it cost?

Fees depend on your plan. A new patient exam is £65, and you get a written estimate before treatment.
