About us

Four people who pick up the phone

Haverell has looked after small businesses in Nottingham since 2017. We stay small on purpose, so every client keeps the same bookkeeper.

About Us

Why we started

Accounting stopped feeling personal

Anjali spent twelve years at larger firms in the East Midlands watching small clients passed to whoever had capacity that week. Nobody knew the business, so nobody spotted anything until year end, when it was too late to help.

The point of a small practice is that someone remembers your name and your numbers without having to open a file.

Haverell opened in 2017 with nine clients and one rule: never take on more than the team can do properly. That rule still stands. We cap the client list, we quote a fixed fee so nobody thinks twice before ringing, and every client has a named bookkeeper plus a second person who knows the file.

Most of our work is monthly bookkeeping, VAT and year end for freelancers, agencies and independent shops around the city. About a third of new clients arrive behind on something. That is normal, and we will not make you feel bad about it.

"Two

our philosophy

Four things we hold to.

We think good bookkeeping should be accurate, clear and actually useful.

Accuracy, always.

Figures should be right first time, not fixed later.

Keep it clear.

No jargon, no confusing reports, no unanswered questions.

Do what we say.

Steady bookkeeping keeps every deadline comfortably met.

Make it useful.

Your books should help you understand the business.

Four people, and you will know every one

Every client has one named bookkeeper and a second person who knows the file, so nothing stalls when someone is off.
